1. Scope and Applicable Law

This Policy applies to personal data processed through the TrueJuris website, consultation booking journey and related digital interfaces. It does not govern a Separate Engagement that is subject to its own written confidentiality or data-handling terms.

TrueJuris processes personal data in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 to the extent their provisions are in force and applicable, together with other applicable information-technology, contractual, consumer-protection and professional obligations.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through use of the Platform and limited information received from service providers. This may include:

• Identity and contact information: name, email address, phone number and organisation details.
• Booking and intake information: the primary Matter, relevant parties, deadlines, existing proceedings and other facts you choose to disclose.
• Payment information: transaction reference, payment status and confirmation details relayed by Razorpay. TrueJuris does not store complete card details, UPI credentials or banking authentication data.
• Consultation information: discussion during the Consultation, documents you share and any written summary prepared afterwards.
• Technical information: device, browser, IP address, log and security information generated by the website and hosting infrastructure.
• Communications: correspondence with us, including booking, cancellation, rescheduling and support requests.

Please do not provide personal data that is unnecessary for us to understand the Matter, particularly information relating to unrelated third parties.

3. How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data to:

• respond to enquiries and manage bookings, scheduling, payments and confirmations;
• prepare for and conduct the Consultation;
• perform preliminary conflict and suitability checks;
• process and reconcile payments;
• create calendar events, Google Meet links, matter folders and internal records;
• send transactional and service communications;
• protect the security, integrity and lawful operation of the Platform;
• prevent fraud and misuse; and
• comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory and professional obligations.

Where applicable, processing is based on your consent, performance of a service requested by you, compliance with law or another lawful ground available under applicable law.

4. Google Workspace and Operational Tools

TrueJuris uses Google Workspace as its principal operating environment. Depending on the service used, information may be processed through Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Meet, Google Drive, Google Docs and Google Sheets for communications, scheduling, video consultations, documents and internal matter administration.

Access to Workspace accounts and files is restricted to authorised persons and is managed using account-level security controls.

5. Payment Processing

Payments are processed through Razorpay or another authorised payment provider. The payment provider collects and processes payment credentials under its own terms and privacy practices. TrueJuris ordinarily receives transaction identifiers, payment status, amount and limited customer details necessary to reconcile and support the booking.

6. Other Service Providers and Disclosures

We may use website hosting, domain, security, analytics and technical-support providers. We share personal data only to the extent reasonably necessary for those providers to perform their function.

We may also disclose information where required by law, court order or a competent authority; to protect the rights, security or property of TrueJuris or another person; to investigate fraud or misuse; or with your direction or consent.

We do not sell personal data.

7. Referrals and Separate Professionals

Where a Matter is referred to an enrolled advocate or another professional for a possible Separate Engagement, we will share information reasonably necessary to facilitate the introduction, subject to your instructions and applicable obligations. The professional may require independent onboarding, conflict checks and engagement terms and will process data under their own arrangements.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Consultation, maintaining transaction and professional records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and meeting legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.

Operational and security logs may be retained for at least the minimum period required by applicable law. When data is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or securely archive it, subject to lawful retention requirements.

9. Data Security and Breach Response

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction. Measures may include controlled access, account security, encryption provided by our service platforms, backups and internal access restrictions.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a personal-data breach occurs, TrueJuris will assess the incident and provide notices to affected individuals and competent authorities where and within the timeframe required by applicable law.

10. Cookies and Analytics

The website may use essential cookies or similar technologies required for security, session management and the booking journey. Analytics or advertising technologies will be activated only if adopted by TrueJuris and will be described in an updated cookie notice or consent mechanism where required.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may affect website functionality.

11. Your Rights and Requests

Subject to applicable law, you may request information about personal data processed by us, correction or updating of inaccurate data, erasure where retention is no longer required, withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent, and grievance redressal. Rights may be subject to identity verification and lawful exceptions.

We aim to acknowledge privacy requests promptly and resolve grievances within a reasonable period, not exceeding ninety days where that statutory timeframe applies.

12. Nomination

Where applicable under law, you may nominate another individual to exercise your data-protection rights in the event of your death or incapacity. Requests relating to nomination may be sent to queries@truejuris.com and may require reasonable verification.

13. Children

The Platform is intended for adults who are legally competent to enter into a contract. We do not knowingly invite or collect personal data directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact queries@truejuris.com.

14. International Processing

Google, Razorpay, hosting providers and other service providers may process or store data in India or other jurisdictions. Where personal data is transferred outside India, TrueJuris will take reasonable steps to comply with applicable transfer restrictions and contractual or technical safeguards required by law.

15. Changes to This Policy

TrueJuris may update this Policy as the Platform, service model, technology stack or applicable law evolves. The version and effective date will be displayed on the published page. Material changes will apply prospectively and may be communicated through the website or registered contact details where appropriate.
